the narrative enneagram

After finding the Enneagram to be a transformative tool for my life and growth, I made the decision in 2023 to be trained in the Enneagram.  There are several professional certification programs online, but as soon as I read about The Narrative Enneagram community, I knew this program was for me because….

1. The Narrative Tradition teaches an experiential approach to the Enneagram.  As we listen to people describe their interior world and their lived experiences, we begin to see some common patterns, strengths, shadows, and growth paths for each Enneagram type.  I have found this to be true:  we learn and connect best in community through stories and experiences.

While books offer great knowledge, Author Brene Brown reminds us that “knowledge is only a rumor until it lives in the muscle.”  The Narrative Enneagram’s method helps to move knowledge into muscle.   

2. The Narrative Enneagram also offers a holistic approach focusing on psychology, spirituality, and somatics.  We are whole and interconnected beings, though we humans tend to forget that as we try to compartmentalize, isolate, and silo ourselves individually and collectively.  I value The Narrative Enneagram’s integrated, holistic approach in teaching and practicing the Enneagram.  

All that said, I chose The Narrative Enneagram’s certification program, finished my course work at the end of 2024, and will graduate as a certified Enneagram teacher on January 11, 2025.  I so look forward to sharing the Enneagram journey with you (see how HERE), and I encourage you to check out The Narrative Enneagram’s website if you’d like to do more reading about the Enneagram!
